CoVid-19 and Psychology Services

The Hamilton Centre for Cognitive Behavioural Therapy is respecting the direction of both Health Canada and Local Government authorities and making adjustments as things unfold.  We will also continue to make additional changes to our operations as deemed appropriate.

Your health and self care is our priority and at this time we are encourage virtual psychological services rather than having clients in person. However, counselling to resume psychotherapy and other mental health and support services may be available in-person for urgent needs. Please note, if this is the case, the following must be adhered to.

Screening

Please do not come into the office if you are experiencing any of the following symptoms:

  • Cough
  • Shortness of breath or difficulty breathing
  • Fever in the past 24 hours
  • Chills
  • Sore throat
  • New loss of taste or smell
  • gastrointestinal symptoms, nausea, vomiting, or diarrhea.
  • Conjunctivitis (pink eye)
  • Headache, runny nose or nasal congestion

Please do not come into the office if you have:

  • Tested positive for COVID-19 currently
  • Knowingly been exposed to someone with probable or confirmed COVID-19
  • Recently traveled to an area with a high infection rate
  • Been in an area where social distancing was not properly observed
  • Been to a nursing home

Should you display any of these symptoms, please contact your health care provider, or Telehealth Ontario (1-866-797-0000).

Take this self-assessment if you think you were exposed to COVID-19 (novel coronavirus) or have symptoms.

Office Procedures

  • Clients are required to wear a mask.
  • Clients are required to wash their hands with soap and water (for at least 20 seconds) or sanitize upon entering the office.
  • Individuals who are accompanying clients but are not participating in the service, such as those providing transportation to clients will be asked to wait elsewhere and return to meet the client after the client's appointment is scheduled to end.
  • Maintain a distance of 3-6 feet (approximately 2 metres) between you and other people.

Thank you for respecting and participating in helping to flatten the curve.
