Christina Sguazzin is a Registered Psychotherapist with the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario (CRPO), as well as a Canadian Certified Counsellor with the Canadian Counselling and Psychotherapy Association (CCPA). She received a Master’s of Education in Counselling Psychology at the University of Ottawa. She has training and experience using a variety of trauma-informed, 3rd generation cognitive behavioural therapies, including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Behavioural Activation (BA), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Mindfulness, and Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT) and is currently being certified in Trauma Care.
Christina has over eight years of combined experience in clinical and counselling psychology. She has worked with adults struggling with a wide range of concerns, including mood and anxiety disorders, trauma, stress/crisis, addictions, chronic pain, relationship and workplace difficulties. She held positions at Carleton University and at Homewood Health Centre as a crisis, addictions and trauma counsellor. In addition to her role at HCCBT, Christina currently practices as a Registered Psychotherapist at the Anxiety Treatment and Research Clinic at St. Joseph's Healthcare Hamilton where she facilitates group and individual therapy for trauma, anxiety and mood disorders, as well as peer support for healthcare workers.
Christina strongly believes that people have unique strengths and struggles, and that we all need to feel heard and understood. She has considered it a privilege to walk alongside people through their journeys, and help them make meaningful changes. Her goal is to empower people and provide them an environment that feels safe, sincere, compassionate, and productive.
