Christina Puccinelli (she/her) is a PhD Candidate in the Clinical Psychology program at McMaster University. She is supervised by Dr. Peter Bieling, C. Psych. Christina has experience providing assessment and treatment to adults experiencing a range of concerns including symptoms of OCD, anxiety (i.e., generalized anxiety/excessive worry, social anxiety, phobias, panic disorder, agoraphobia, health anxiety), stress, perfectionism, and depression.
Christina is trained in the provision of Cognitive-Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and integrates other evidence-based modalities including mindfulness-based cognitive therapy and skills from dialectical behaviour therapy as needed. She takes a client-centred approach and strives to create a non-judgmental and collaborative relationship to support clients in reaching their goals.
She completed her Pre-Doctoral Residency at the Centre for Addiction and Mental Health (CAMH) where she provided assessment and treatment at the Mood and Anxiety Clinic and University of Toronto’s Student Health and Wellness Centre. Prior to this, she completed her training at St. Joseph’s Healthcare Hamilton in the Anxiety Treatment and Research Clinic (ATRC) and the Youth Wellness Centre.
In addition to her role at the HCCBT, she is currently completing a Postdoctoral Fellowship at the ATRC at St. Joseph’s Healthcare Hamilton. Her PhD research focused on examining the incompleteness/ “not just right” presentation of OCD from patient, measurement, and treatment perspectives.
